Christ Church, Mille Isles is situated at 1258 Mille Isles Road, north of Lachute on the 329 East, adjacent to the Mille Isle community hall. It was founded in 1861 and the present church was built in 1956.
Christ Church is a beautifully designed structure, with cathedral ceiling, knotty pine interior and stained glass windows throughout. It seats 90(plus) people and has an excellent organ (we are without an organist at this time, but one is available upon request). The Church is heated by oil and may be used four seasons of the year. There is no church hall, but we have free access to the Municipal Hall.
The church was mother church of the Parish of Mille Isles. The Parish at that time consisted of Trinity - Morin Heights and St-Francis of the Birds – St-Sauveur. In 1983 Christ Church was joined to the Parish of Lakefield. It embodied Holy Trinity – Lakefield, St-Aidan’s – Louisa, and St-John’s – Shrewsbury, and, in 2001, became one of the five churches of the Greater Parish of St-Andrew.
